Getting Me Elected Means

Getting Leadership & Honesty

Time for a new generation of leaders to step up!

I am JoAnne Allen, a Winston-Salem Native, a Social Advocator and Outspoken Activist for All People!

I have been married to my high school Sweetheart Charles Allen for over 41 years; he is a retired United States Air Force Veteran who is also a native of Winston-Salem.  Tiffany Allen Richardson is our daughter and the love of our lives along with our two Grandchildren, Donavan and Lauryn.

Growing up in the 1950’s and 60’s and being part of an interracial family it set the tone and the framework for my educational journey and life experiences on how I would perceive the world.  My neighborhoods were a collective group of people who took care of the community and looked out for one another, where you could sleep at night with the windows and doors unlocked and walk the streets without fear.  I didn’t come to this City to make it my home, Winston-Salem is my home!

I attended the local schools in Winston-Salem for 10 years, bypassing the 11thgrade to attend Windsor Forest High School in Savannah, Georgia where I graduated with Honors and was named Who’s Who Among High School Students in the USA.  I attended Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma and Winston-Salem State University majoring in Political Science and Public Administration, graduating with Honors and also inducted in the Who’s Who Among College Students In the Nation.

After attending Undergraduate Studies, I continued to pursue my studies at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia studying Public Administration and Florida Coastal Law School, Jacksonville, Florida, where I received my Juris Doctor.  I completed a four to five year Law Degree Program in two and a half years while being actively engaged with community projects and working fulltime.

I believe that it is our children who are our greatest hope for the future and we must do all that we can to ensure that we are leaving a legacy behind to be used as a Blueprint for Truth, Fairness and Equality for all People!

My greatest accomplishment is knowing that I have stood for “Integrity, Honor, Justice, Fairness, and Decent Human Kindness for all People from All Walks of Life!”
